Natural rubber is also called latex. The BIBS Bottle Teats are designed with an anti-colic function. Does your son or daughter already have BIBS weaning? That's ideal! These bottle teats have the same round shape :)
In your search for the right bottle teats for your beautiful, glass BIBS baby bottle - you have ended up here. Below we have listed the most important features for you, so that you can quickly discover whether you also approve of this bottle teat for your son or daughter :)
When you have a baby, you clean a lot. This is of course not just the case, your little one can still develop his or her immune system wonderfully. However, it is important that you take this into account. So cleaning the BIBS bottle teats is a must. How exactly do you do this? Before first use, place these natural bottles in boiling water for 5 minutes. You can then clean the bottle teat before each use.
You do this by placing the bottle teat in a clean bowl and pouring boiling water over the teat. You can then let it soak for about 5 minutes. Then dry it with a clean towel or let the bottle teat air dry.
PLEASE NOTE - The bottle teats should not be placed in the microwave or dishwasher. It is a natural product which means they break down quickly. For hygiene and safety reasons, it is advisable to replace the bottle teat every 4-6 weeks.
This may be the first time you have purchased a baby bottle and therefore also a bottle nipple. Which size do you need - that is of course the big question ;) There are three 'sizes' of bottle teats from BIBS, and sizes are in quotation marks. Why? Because we look at milk flows. What storms are there? Read on quick!
Now every baby is unique and they have their own mannerisms and different needs. These different needs are related to different preferences, which is due to the different sucking techniques during feeding. They already practiced this when your son or daughter was still in your belly ♡ That is why BIBS has developed different milk flows. This flow rate relates to the size of the hole(s) in the bottle teat. This part ensures that breast milk flows more or less quickly into your son's or daughter's mouth.
Now the question is of course which milk flow best suits the needs of your son or daughter. Now every baby has a different need, but to provide some kind of guideline it is useful if some kind of zero or starting point is given.
For a newborn it is advisable to use a low flow rate, this slows down bottle feeding - which ensures that breastfeeding is better simulated. This controls the milk intake better so that the babies are not completely stuffed with milk. Better to drink more often and in small amounts. That is what nature intended for babies, and therefore they are made for them.
There is a good chance that your baby will be breastfed, logical - that's how it is made ;) Nurse Kirsten Lise Andersen therefore advises mothers to use the BIBS bottle teat with a low dream speed. This is because babies who drink from the breast are used to having to work harder for the milk. This is because it takes more effort to suck milk from the breast than from a baby bottle. Ensuring that the milk flow mimics the breast ensures that your baby does not become 'lazy' or even refuse the breast. Because you definitely don't want that!
It takes an average of 15-2 minutes for a baby to finish a baby bottle containing breast milk. Is it faster? Then the milk flow is too fast.
