How is TOOT! to arise?
It started with Karlijn, the founder of TOOT! Her daughter wanted to start playing with makeup when she was seven years old. She then wondered if her daughter is too young for makeup, since cosmetics are not really known for safe ingredients. And then at that age such make-up, even children's make-up was cheap with the most nasty ingredients. Karlijn then decided that she was going to do it differently, because if she doesn't do it - who will?! That's how TOOT! arise, which you pronounce as toot! After a lot of research, she started working with no fewer than 100 children! They were allowed to help design, because let's be honest - who knows better what kids like than themselves? Karlijn started working with the kids in various school classes in a 'design-based learning' curriculum.
In this process, children learned how to brainstorm, think creatively (very important) and work together and ultimately how to present this. These were super fun educational hours and with the information that Karlijn learned, she has developed this further in the prints, color choices and packaging! In other words, kids love this!
