The discomfort and pain that can come with breastfeeding are not pleasant, fortunately there are great solutions that quickly combat the problem and relieve the pain. The same applies to the perineum and also your body. It is nice to be supported in your healing process after an intense birth of your beautiful child ♡ Below you will discover how to best use compresses :)
How do I use the chest compression pads?
The pads can help with pain while feeding your baby. Engorgement can also be alleviated with the pads, but also the let-down reflex can be stimulated. Symptoms of mastitis can also be prevented by using the Haakaa chest compression pads.
Warm - Place the pads in hot water for 3 -5 minutes ( not boiling water ). Drain the water before removing the chest compression pads. Once you take them out and have dried, they can be placed in the cotton cover that comes with them. If you put it directly on your skin without anything around it you can potentially get burns.
Microwave is possible, but keep in mind that you can get hotspots, or uneven heat distribution. If you take this into account and want to heat them up in a microwave, place them on a clean and dry plate for 20 seconds at a maximum of 700W . Place them in the center as they should not touch the sides of the microwave while rotating. When they have warmed up, put on the cotton cover and place them on your skin. The following also applies here: If you apply it directly to your skin without anything around it, you can possibly get burns.
Chilled - if you want to use the pads chilled, it is advisable to place the pads in the refrigerator at least an hour before use. Once they are cooled, you can take them and put the cotton cover on them. Voila! Ready for use!
Frozen - Before use, it is also important to place them in the freezer at least an hour in advance. Once they are frozen, place the Haakaa reusable pads in the cotton cover and use the pads as desired. You may not expect it, but never put a frozen compression pad directly on the skin, as it can cause ice burns. And you don't want that ;)
