Okay, the natural wave bottle teats!
There are 4 sizes of teats
XS = From birth
Slow = 2S - can be used from 1 month
Medium = 3M - can be used from 3 months
Fastflow = 4L - can be used from 6 months
The above sizes are of course the recommended age, and are based on what is most common. The size your baby needs depends on the suction power your baby has. The younger your baby is, the slower the flow from the teat should be to prevent choking & exhaustion. It's actually a matter of trying, because you can learn from trying. When do you know if you have the right pacifier? When your baby empties his or her bottle around 15 to 20 minutes without choking ♡
Can I clean the Lansinoh Bottle Teats in boiling water?
Cleaning things is quite important in the beginning. Your little one's immune system is not yet complete and may develop over the coming years. In the beginning it is important that you work cleanly, so not clinically ;) The NaturalWave teats can be sterilized in boiling water in five minutes. Always make sure there is enough water in the pan so that the teats do not boil dry. Then they will be broken, and of course you don't want that. In other words, the teats can start to melt. The teats should float and not come into contact with the bottom or sides of the pan.
Should the cap be screwed onto the teat when heating in the microwave?
It is not recommended to heat breast milk or other liquid in a microwave. The breast milk is heated unevenly, which can cause hot spots. There is a chance that your baby's mouth will burn. And in addition, the microwave destroys all the nutrients in breast milk. Most likely, your maternity care will also tell you this ♡ Heating the bottle in the microwave is also not recommended.
How often should I replace the NaturalWave teat?
Before you use the Lansinoh bottle teat, we recommend that you always check the teats. Check for wear or damage. If there is no damage to the bottle teats, it is advisable to purchase new bottle teats every 7 weeks. It is not recommended to expose the bottle teat to direct sunlight, heat or disinfectant (sterilization solution) for longer than recommended in the instructions as this may weaken the teat.
