The CHI Lava Hairdryer has three settings:
Snowflake (*) - This gives a cool temperature and dries your hair in a cool way. We recommend using this setting if you have thin, fine or dry hair.
Single Line (-) - This setting provides low airflow and temperature to gently dry your hair. This setting is for use if you have normal hair.
Double line (=) - This gives a high airflow and temperature for fast drying. Use this setting if you have coarse or thick hair.
Cold Shot- There is a Cold Shot button on the front of the dryer. Press this button if desired to lock your style, because this way the hair scales close again. This button certainly has an added value, because it ensures soft and shiny hair after blow-drying. So switch at the end of your blow-drying session (when your hair is about 80% dry) to protect your hair from overheating.
We are just giving you an indication, of course you can also use the snowflake if you have coarse or thick hair. This is completely up to you! Use the hairdryer about 20 cm away from the hair. You can use the Smoothing Comb closer to your hair to comb it through. Switch off the hairdryer before you unplug it. Do not pull on the cord, but grab the plug of the device to disconnect.
